Unlock or unblock your mobile broadband connection
To unlock or unblock a mobile broadband connection, follow these steps. For more information about mobile broadband, see What is mobile broadband?
If a PIN has been enabled on the device, the mobile broadband connection will be automatically locked when you turn off the computer, enter hibernation mode, or remove the data card from the computer. The next time you start the computer, resume from hibernation, or insert the data card, the status of the device will be displayed as Device locked.

To unlock a mobile broadband connection
Click to open Connect to a Network.
Click the name of the mobile broadband connection, and then click Connect.
Type the PIN, and then click OK.
To unblock a mobile broadband connection or SIM PIN
When a subscriber identity module (SIM) PIN is blocked, the device is locked and it can't be unlocked with the PIN. The device status will be displayed as Device locked. To unblock the PIN, you must enter a PIN unblock key (PUK) that you get from your mobile broadband provider. You must create a new PIN during the unblocking process.
Click to open Connect to a Network.
If the status of your device is displayed as Device locked, right-click the mobile broadband network, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.
Click Unblock PIN.
Type the PIN unblock key (PUK), type and verify the new PIN, and then click Unblock PIN.

If the PIN isn't currently blocked, the Unblock PIN button isn't available.
