Motorola Mobility Celebrates Hollywood’s Biggest Night with Special Edition ‘Red Carpet’ DROID RAZR MAXX
Fans will have their chance to win this special edition smartphone through a Twitter sweepstakes
Motorola Mobility, Inc. (NYSE: MMI) has added another layer of glitz and glamour to Hollywood’s biggest night, creating a special edition “Red Carpet” DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola.
The phone, which will go out to select nominees and presenters at this year’s event, has twice the battery life of other smartphones. So, this Sunday, nominees with a DROID RAZR MAXX will have what they need to get through the big day – from the minute they wake up until the after-party champagne runs dry.
With its sleek design and vibrant 4.3-inch display, the phone will look every bit as good as the stars do walking the red carpet. And with DROID RAZR MAXX’s 8-megapixel camera and HD video recording, Hollywood’s elite can turn the camera back on the paparazzi and capture all the red carpet action from their perspective.
Plus, with up to 21 hours of talk time, the stars will have more than enough battery life to chat with the press, check in at home, surf the Web from their seats or Tweet to their adoring fans – all at lightning-fast speeds.
Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress nominees received the phone within a glamorous, gold sequined pouch, just big enough to keep the evening’s essentials. Nominees for Best Supporting Actor, Best Actor and Best Director were given a high-end shaving kit, so they can keep their faces as smooth, beautiful and chiseled-looking as ever.
We’ve also outfitted them with a Motorola ELITE SLIVER Bluetooth® headset small enough to conceal – and stylist-approved.
For mere mortals who don’t appear on the silver screen, they’ll have a chance to get their hands on a special edition “Red Carpet” DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola with a Twitter sweepstakes that kicks off Thursday, February 23. Five fans have the chance to win their own device online by retweeting #RedCarpetRAZR. For additional details, visit www.twitter.com/motorola.

Verizon, Motorola Mobility, BoxTone Unveil New Mobile Solution for Health Care Industry
Companies Collaborate to Meet Patient-Care Needs With Android-Based Devices, Apps
Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Motorola Mobility Inc. and BoxTone are collaborating to develop a comprehensive mobile solution to help satisfy the unique security, reliability and usability requirements of the health care industry. By providing health care practitioners with secure mobile devices and apps, patient care can be improved through the sharing of clinical data in near-real time to help speed decision making and control costs.
The jointly created offering leverages BoxTone’s automated Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) software platform on select Motorola devices, such as the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX smartphones, as well as DROID XYBOARD 10.1 and 8.2 tablets, all of which tap the power of the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. Health care organizations can now reliably deploy Android-based mobile devices and apps that are designed to help them meet strict compliance requirements, including privacy measures outlined in the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
This comprehensive solution from three leaders in mobile health proactively addresses mobile security and privacy by incorporating a new layer of data protection with automated mobile device and application management, thereby helping to enable widespread Android adoption in health care. Motorola Mobility and BoxTone are both Verizon Business Solutions Alliance partners.
“This solution underscores the important role mobility is playing in transforming health care,” said Dr. Peter Tippett, vice president and chief medical officer, Verizon Connected Healthcare Solutions, the company’s health IT practice group that is part of Verizon Enterprise Solutions. “Mobile devices and health care apps represent one of the biggest IT opportunities of the decade to improve and transform care delivery. Working with Motorola Mobility and BoxTone, we have brought together complementary capabilities to create an easy-to-deploy and manage mobility solution for our health care customers.”
Motorola Mobility smartphones are well-suited for health care environments, incorporating coatings of water-repellent nanoparticles, brilliant displays using Corning® Gorilla® Glass for scratch-resistance and innovative materials for strength such as KEVLAR® fiber for DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX. Easy to slip into a lab coat pocket, the smartphones and tablets also feature pre-loaded Citrix® software for access to electronic medical records, 3LM software for embedded device security and the BoxTone EMM software for automated life-cycle management.
Christy Wyatt, senior vice president and general manager of Motorola Mobility’s enterprise business unit, said: “Mobile technology has the potential to bring greater efficiencies and more robust capabilities to the health care industry. The combination of Motorola devices with BoxTone’s software solution and Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network can significantly enhance health care providers’ ability to deliver enhanced care to patients.”
BoxTone’s automated EMM platform provides high levels of service and security at a low cost and risk for health care organizations. BoxTone’s full lifecycle EMM platform incorporates enterprise-grade mobile device management for automated provisioning, security configuration, compliance monitoring and enforcement, change management, and retirement. It also includes mobile support management for remote service desk support through real-time views into mobile status, automated diagnostics, embedded knowledgebase and click-to-fix, as well as mobile operations management for continuous real-time service monitoring, proactive alerting and system tuning.
“Working with Verizon and Motorola Mobility, we have developed a comprehensive solution to securely deploy, manage, monitor and support the Android-based mobilization of health care,” said Alan Snyder, chief executive officer of BoxTone. “When smartphones, tablets and mobile apps are securely and reliably managed centrally, health care organizations gain the freedom to deliver significant point-of-care enhancements and increased patient satisfaction.”
[Note: Verizon, Motorola Mobility and BoxTone will demonstrate this health care mobility solution in the Verizon booth (#2463) at HIMSS 2012, Las Vegas, Feb. 20-24. Verizon’s Droid RAZR leaked screenshots show Android 4.0.3 build, update imminent?
Verizon Motorola Droid RAZR owners, are you looking forward to receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for your phone? Well if you are, it looks like the official update for your handset could be nearing completion thanks to a series of screenshots that show off the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich build running on Verizon’s Motorola Droid RAZR.
Now we have no way of actually verifying the authenticity of this build, but based on the various screenshots and comments in the forum where they were posted, it looks like this might be the real thing, not to mention the inclusion of Verizon bloatware seems to point towards that direction as well.
We reported that Motorola detailed their Android 4.0 update timetable last week, and Verizon’s Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX had its expected timing listed as “further details to follow” and with the update still in its evaluation and planning phase. So are we looking a photoshop job here, or a ROM, or are Verizon and Motorola hard at work at pushing out the Android 4.0 update for Droid RAZR owners in a more timely fashion?
For more information, head on over to the Droidrzr forums where additional screenshots will also be available.

Verizon employees offered limited edition Droid RAZRs
A Verizon Wireless employee just sent me a taunting email to inform us that they will soon be receiving a limited edition of the Motorola Droid RAZR. The device will be offered to employees only at the discounted price of $99 for a 16 GB model or $199 for a 32 GB MAXX model.
Highlights of the limited edition include:
Unique red and black pattern
Free dock included
Engraved with unique number on back
Engraved with Limited Edition on front
Overall it looks like a pretty sweet deal for Verizon employees. We are told these limited edition devices should launch sometime in April. Now who wants to hook me up with a limited edition RAZR MAXX?

Verizon, AT&T To Sell 4G iPad
Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc. will sell a version of the coming iPad that runs on their newest fourth-generation wireless networks, according to people familiar with the matter, as the battle to cash in on big investments in mobile broadband heats up.
Apple Inc. appears to be planning to announce the latest version of its tablet computer in the first week of March, according to another person briefed on the matter.
Whether other carriers will also sell the device couldn't be learned. Sprint Nextel Corp., T-Mobile USA and Apple declined to comment.
Smartphone HTC to support LTE operator Verizon Wireless
HTC is soon going to release a smartphone operating system Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with support for standard networks, fourth generation LTE. Information about the device quite a bit - in the network has only the first unofficial photos and some specifications. Based on the demonstrated boot screen phone is designed for operator Verizon Wireless and the outer is very similar to HTC Incredible 2. The model name on the sample who fell into the lens of a spy camera is missing. As for the characteristics of this device yet unnamed, they are consistent with modern multimedia solutions - dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 8-megapixel main and front VGA- camera for video calls. Diagonla screen is unknown, but it seems that in contrast to the traditional HTC S-LCD matrix at this time was used AMOLED panel. Operates the machine running Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich and is equipped with an interface HTC Sense 4.0. Since the device looks very similar, but slightly larger than the characteristics of DROID Incredible 2, then it is likely that it will be released to the market as the Incredible 3.
