Quad Core LG X3 Retail Branding Revealed

LG will be bringing its upcoming, quad-core X3 handset to market as the Optimus 4X HD, we've learned. The name makes perfect sense when you consider that its predecessor, the company's first dual-core phone, is sold as the Optimus 2X. The Ice Cream Sandwich-powered 4X HD is said to feature a 4.7-inch 720p display, eight-megapixel camera, and 21Mbps HSPA data, in a sub-nine-millimeter casing. Notably, we've seen at least one reference online to a T-Mobile G4X, suggesting that this could hit Magenta as the G2X followup.

With Barcelona's Mobile World Congress still a few days away, LG has already introduced at least five new handsets by our count, including the Optimus 3D Max, launched earlier this morning. Once the Optimus 4X HD is added into the mix, and possibly the Windows Phone-powered Miracle as well, this will have been a very busy show for the Korean manufacturer and its new L-Style design philosophy; unless Samsung has a number of surprises up its sleeve, it looks like LG will be the most prolific OEM at the year's biggest mobile event.
